Actually, there are two officially recognized trademark
symbols but you will not find them on your keyboard.  They
are the TM symbol (™), and, the circle “R” symbol (®).

The TM and ™ symbols are used to claim a name or a
logo as your trademark.  You can use it as your
designation giving notice to the public about your claim
before you register your trademark.  You also can use it
whether you register your trademark with the U.S.
Trademark Office or not.

The ® symbol is used when your name or logo trademark
has been registered and approved by the U.S. Trademark
Office.

To type the TM symbol on a word processing page or a
web page, do this:

-        Hold down the ALT key and type “0153” on your
keyboard numbers pad.

To type the Circle “R” symbol on a word processing page
or web page, do this:

-        Hold down the Alt key and type “0174” on your
 keyboard numbers pad.

There you have it, the ™ symbol and the ® symbol.
